Pumpkin Patch and Petting Zoo Come to the Park

Picture
Despite the chilly temperatures, residents came out in force to Indian Boundary Park this past Sunday, October 5, 2014. According to park supervisor Phil Martini, "this month is all about events" -- and it all starts with Harvest Fest.

Harvest Fest is an annual event sponsored by the Chicago Park District at the park. This year a simulacrum of a pumpkin patch was created in the new Nature Play Center. Children were able to choose a pumpkin and decorate it in the aviary of the former zoo space.

At the south end of the park, near the fieldhouse, there was a petting zoo and a pony ride attraction. Free attractions like two inflatable bounce rides and games were on the main lawn near the tennis courts. Kids were also able to get their faces painted for free in the barn.
