New Park Advisory Council Officers Elected for 2015
Members of the Indian Boundary Park Advisory Council elected five members to the executive board at their regular monthly meeting January 13, 2015. All were unopposed for the one-year term during 2015.
Leta Dally was elected president, succeeding Jane Pranga, who did not seek reelection but remains a member of the council. Ms. Dally served as secretary of the council in 2014.
Valeri Vanourek was elected secretary, a position she held in previous years, and Dan Miller was re-elected treasurer.
In addition, Dawn McNeal was elected to her first council position as first vice president, and long-time Advisory Council member Karen Vanourek was elected second vice president.
Ms. Dally pledged “to expand advisory council activities beyond sponsoring our very successful spring and fall bird walks, and the family-friendly Fourth of July parade. We’ll also have a higher profile at Chicago Park District events held at Indian Boundary.”
She added that the council will continue to fulfill its mission “to develop and maintain a beautiful oasis of park landscape and gardens for public view and enjoyment.”
She also noted that the council aids the park supervisor in providing and expanding park services in cultural programs of theater, movies, music, education and recreation. She said the council also seeks to “give our community's children the enjoyable advantages of a wonderful, diversified and safe playground to share with friends and family.”
